Walmart Gets Into Cosmetics in a BIG Way - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I'm ever on the lookout for beauty bargains and news, so when Glam Media asked me to review the newly expanded cosmetics department in Walmart stores, I cleared out some haulage space in the back of the 4-Runner and drove out to the closest store.
I haven't been to a Walmart in years. The store I reviewed is in Richmond, spread out on two floors, but in one case inside information technology only took a minute to spot the big "Cosmetics" sign showing me where to go.
In terms of selection, the new section dwarfs anything I've seen in a while. It's huge, to say the least (three long aisles; I'1000 guessing 600 square feet of cosmetics).
They carry virtually of the big drugstore brands like Neutrogena, Almay and Covergirl. The only production I looked for but couldn't observe was Sally Hansen Lipgloss, but the shop did take Sally'due south blast polishes.
It was time for the ultimate test: the price cheque, and then I parked my boo-tay in front of the Rimmel department and went to work.
Correct at present I have the Rimmel Mono Powder Blush in Santa Rose, which I got at the drugstore for $3.50 a while back. Walmart had them for $ii.97 (Walgreens regular toll: $3.49). Not bad!
I couldn't decide on a blush at Walmart (don't you detest that?), so I fabricated my way over to the Physicians Formula section.
Remember the Shimmer Strips I reviewed a few weeks ago? At Walmart they were $nine.30, nearly $2 less than I paid on the Physicians Formula website and about $1.70 less than the Walgreens price.
After an hr of shopping I'd barely touched the surface of Walmart's new cosmetics department, only El Hub was getting fidgety, so my last cease was to the Sally Hansen Salon Nail Polish display. At $v, each smooth was about $1.l less than the price of a canteen at my nearby drugstore ($6.50). That's a huge 30% savings.
I wanted a vivid, springy color, and so I choose creamy scarlet coral Orange Yous Cute?
All told, Walmart'southward new beauty department has just nearly every big drugstore product and brand at an average of 20-30% lower prices than drugstore. If yous're bargain beauty conscious, check it out!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
